Planning Granted

Planning Granted

We’re very excited to announce that on November 18th 2024 planning permission was granted by the Highland Council to replace the existing original lodges with 4 new lodges at Celtic Lodges.

We will build one at a time and will only work whilst there are no guests in residence, therefore the whole process will take a little longer and we estimate it will take two or three years to fully complete.

After planning was submitted we knew that we had a few months to wait for a decision so we’ve been working away in the background on things like the new electricity upgrade and fresh mains water supply in preparation. Eventually every cable and water pipe on the whole property will be replaced for a fresh start.

Below you can see the slightly different and better location of the new lodges on site.

How will the new lodges be different from the original lodges?

  • They will be larger.
  • Sleep 4 people with a king size master bedroom and a separate twin bedroom.
  • The large master bedroom will have a full height rear picture window facing the forrest and Orkney.
  • They will include an internal porch for shade in the summer and shelter in the winter.
  • Larger modern bathrooms with walk-in showers.
  • Log burners in the cosy lounge.
  • Decking and seating areas to both front and rear of the lodges.
  • Each will include a stone built BBQ with a chimney.
  • Each will include a log fired hot tub (once all 4 new lodges have been completed).
