Second Original Lodge Open

At the end of July 2024, we opened our second original lodge here at Celtic Lodges. We’ve had an incredibly successful few months and have met lots of lovely guests from all over the world who have enjoyed exploring the NC500 and our wee corner of Caithness – some of whom have already returned because they loved their stay so much.

To explain the reason why we call these lodges ‘original’ is because they were the older original lodges (not open) that were here on site when we purchased the property back in February 2024. Now that both of these lodges have undergone a much needed refurbishment they should be open for the next 12-18 months before being replaced one at a time with new lodges.

Before these original lodges are replaced we will be adding two of the new holiday lodges to the site allowing us to make full use of the time they have left on site by letting them. So as you can see we have a full project on our hands and one that will take around 18-24 months to finish. Once complete Celtic Lodges will be exactly how we want it and a great place for guests to come and stay who are travelling the NC500 in Scotland.

As and when we have any updates and developments they will be posted here in the News & Info section of the website. As mentioned in a previous post the planning application for the new lodges has already been submitted in order to change the lodges to new modern units. This is only a formality but one that has to be done in order to cross the t’s and dot the i’s.

As you can see from the photos of this cosy holiday lodge in Scotland, it also has two bedrooms sleeping 3 persons, a decking area, lounge, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, shower room and toilet. Everything needed for a short overnight or longer stay. All lodges have Free Wi-Fi by Starlink and passwords can be found in each lodge on the small notice board.

Our lodges are well located for many of the most popular attractions and places in Caithness including John O’Groats, and the Castle and Gardens of Mey, spectacular north coast sandy beaches, and for onward travel to Orkney via two ferry routes.

Don’t forget Celtic Lodges is open all year round and any booking of 7 nights or more will qualify for 25% OFF (until further notice). You will see that this discount is automatically applied when booking direct on our website.

When guests depart, any short comment that has been left we place on the website and you can read them on the Visitors Book Comments page. Online guest reviews can also be seen on the Guest Reviews page. Both visitor book comments and online guest reviews are updated on a daily basis.
